WHAT IS ERM?

The Environmental Resource Management (ERM) major is an interdisciplinary, environmental science curriculum that trains students to use problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills to solve environmental and resource management issues. It is one of the premier environmental science programs in the nation and has been preparing students for more than 35 years to successfully and creatively analyze, manage, and protect the environmental resources of Pennsylvania, the nation, and the world.

There are two options available within the ERM major; the Environmental Science option and the Soil Science option. For more information about the Soil Science option, click here.

An ERM degree also can provide an excellent foundation for either graduate school in the environmental and natural resource sciences or for advanced professional training in environmental law.

ERM's interdisciplinary approach makes use of an outstanding faculty from many departments to advise and teach students. (Learn more about faculty and their interests).

ERM is affiliated with the College of Agricultural Sciences and the College's Environment and Natural Resources Institute.
